AdBrite, the network you may not know of…

Hey, I noticed you haven't subscribed yet! If you'd like to be notified the next time I write something, you may want to sign-up for email alerts or subscribe to the RSS/Atom feed. Thanks for reading!

So, at the moment you may be looking for additional methods of monetizing your website or blog.  There are many different options out there for you, but we will be focusing on one at the moment - AdBrite.  I should also mention that AdBrite is not just good for monetization, maybe you want new people to visit your website, it’s also great as an advertising network.

AdBrite

AdBrite started in 2002 and has already caught-up to the big media giants on the net.  You can actually make money from this network and most of their ads are high-quality so I don’t feel bad endorsing it.  I’ve been with some ad networks where even after a month of advertising on my sites, I fail to make pennies on the dollar.  AdBrite is NOT one of those networks.

I make most of the money on my video website from AdBrite.  Currently, I’m using their inline text ads, regular link and photo ads.  I’d also like to add InVideo ads (see below) in the future when I can automate the video upload process.  Let’s go ahead with a review of the different services AdBrite provides…

PUBLISHERS

  • AdBrite currently has four different styles of ads for your site; regular link and/or photo box ads that can be placed anywhere on your site, BritePic which allows you to put ads into photos tastefully, InVideo which is the same but for videos, inline text ads (selects contextual words on your site to place double-underline links which provide ads to your users) and finally,  interstitials (they’re almost like intro ads before your site comes-up (I don’t enjoy them much :-P))
  • You have complete control over the pricing structure of advertisers on your site (so if ads are not paying enough for your liking, you can use a different advertising network’s ads)
  • You can approve or reject ads (you also have the ability to say whether “adult” ads should automatically be approved or rejected)
  • Everything is very simple, putting AdBrite into your site is as easy as adding a simple line of HTML code
  • Ads can be customized to look like your site’s theme and run seamlessly within it
  • Allows you to place “Your Ad Here” text under your ads to sell advertising space directly to interested advertisers on your site

ADVERTISERS

  • Millions of users across thousands of sites will see your advertisements
  • VERY cheap rates available
  • You can target people by site(s), keyword(s), geography and demographics
  • Select from a wide variety of ad formats (see above under “Publishers”)
  • See site(s) stats before you buy ads on that site

Anyhow, I definitely recommend AdBrite for both publishers and advertisers.  After all, it’s free to sign-up and can help you make some extra money on the side!

Something to look into, going back and forth on monetizing the blog.

Yeah it’s a tough choice. Unfortunately without monetization, hosting and domain fees can dip into your pocket expenses. Although without monetization, your site will most likely appear less “cluttered”. I think if done properly, you can get some decent money while allowing your “regular users” to navigate the site unobstructed.

Are you using them right now Joe? I don’t see them here, so I’m wondering if you’re using Adbrite on another site? How much luck have you had with them? I still have no tried to monetize my site and don’ t know/if I will, but I’m always curious about the different networks out there.

LOBO - thanks for the comment!
Deron - I don’t have them (AdBrite) on this site yet. I need to get it setup as it can really add-up over time. I have it setup on my video site and it has a good return, better than other networks. I’m still tinkering with this site to see what works best, so AdBrite will probably be back soon.
