So, you’re wondering how many visitors your site’s getting. Is that all you’re wondering?…or, is that all the information you can get? If you only know how many people are visiting your website, then you may be stuck in the dark ages.
You should be getting some great analytics from your website including:
- Who visited your website
- Where your visitors are from
- What they looked at
- How long they stayed on your site
- How they discovered your site (other than direct entry such as bookmark, or retyping the address)
- What browser they were using
- What operating system they were using
- If your visitor was a robot or human
- What keywords they used in a search engine to get to your site
- And many, many more things(you get the idea)…
You are either amazed right now, or extremely bored (because you already knew this :-P). Either way, I’m going to show you some ways to make your life on the web easier. Now, you can achieve all of these analytics pretty easily. To do so, you just need to call a bit of code from your web pages. First of all, it’s best to install analytics software on your own server…BUT, if you are running your blog or website from a free site (or just someone else’s server that you don’t have access to), I would suggest trying StatCounter. StatCounter is free, and offers a great-many features (including most of above-mentioned). [Read more →]

So, you keep hearing about link baiting and are wondering what it is. Link baiting is just like it sounds…you’re “baiting” other web sites for links back to you. What this means is, you use either really good and unique content or a creative way to get other web sites to link back to your site. You are essentially “baiting” them…just like putting bait (like a worm) on a fish hook and waiting for the fish to bite.
Now a lot of people know the benefits of having more links pointing to your web site, but in case you don’t I’ll give you a couple of good reasons. The foremost reason being search engine optimization. Incoming links provide better “authority” for your site in the eyes of search engines. Also, the more links you have to your site, obviously the more exposure your site will have and the more visitors you’ll get. [Read more →]

It might of seemed like I disappeared for the last day but I have not! I’ve been busy working on the website’s code and images. A lot of things have been changed and I am busy making the site bigger and badder! I’m going to do a write-up of Wordpress plugins coming-up since most of the lists currently out there aren’t up to date and don’t provide enough info (let alone the right plugins). I’ll update you ASAP (tomorrow)!

I had to write this post because all I keep hearing about is mindless zombies being recruited for Agloco. Before I go into my rants I’ll have to explain what Agloco is for people who don’t know. Agloco is a simple toolbar you install much like the Google Toolbar (). The concept is that Agloco gets money from advertisers, sponsors, etc. and while you surf the web they push ads on you relating to either your search or websites you’re visiting. What Agloco wants you to know though, is that you’ll get paid while you surf the net!
Now all of this seems great and would make sense, but when you start looking into things…well, they start falling apart. For example, you’re supposed to try to “recruit” friends and family (and whoever else on Earth you can) to use Agloco with your referer ID. Now if you’re able to do this, these people will now “work” under you and bring you more profit each month. Someone please explain to me how this would work? It’s a huge pyramid scheme! You eventually run out of people to put “under you” and the people at the bottom suffer since they can’t share in any of the profit. [Read more →]
